	Mr. Lv Guoman, the Senior Vice President went to Metro Qingdao store to inspect the preparation of food supply for Olympic Sailing competition. He has respectively paid a visit to Qingdao province, city, and district leaders at all levels, and Mr. Ma Shizhong, Vice Mayor of Qingdao City (right from 3) fully affirmed Metro’s support to the Qingdao Municipal Government and Olympic Sailing Committee, and promised to give a commendation after the Olympic.

	The Shanghai Morning Post with some other companies organized the one-week Summer Camp with the theme of “Share the Same Heartbeat With you” for 60 students and teachers from Dujiangyan City of Sichuan Province. As one of the sponsors, Metro provided bags and sports shoes for the students and teachers, which showcases our continuous support to the disaster relief in line with previous donations of cash and tents.

	Accompanied by Mr. Lv, Senior Vice President, Mr. Wang Haifeng, the Deputy Director of State Administration for Industry and Commerce, paid a visit to the Minhang store and inspected Frozen, Fresh and Dry three food storage areas specially set up during the Olympic, and listened to the introduction of security management area from the store manager. 	In cooperation with the European Union, Metro launched the nationwide promotion “Tasty Europe” throughout the entire 37 outlets in China. Mr. Serge Abou, the Ambassador and Head of European Commission Delegation to China, took part in the opening ceremony at Metro Shanghai Putuo Store today and officially unveiled the opening.

	The fourth CCFA Food Safety Annual meeting was held in Shanghai. During the session, the delegation visited Metro Putuo Store and the Training Kitchen and debriefed the report of HACCP lectured by QA Manager from Metro.

	Expo China Central 2008, jointly organized by Ministry of Commerce as well as 6 provinces from central China, was kicked-off on 26 April in the Chinese central metropolis Wuhan. During the 3-day Expo, Metro made a full presentation of its new model of agricultural products sourcing base, which was tailor-made for Chinese market.

	Metro held press conference in its Shenzhen Luohu store and announced the Chinese and German table tennis elites sponsored by itself, including Hao Shuai from Zhejiang Commercial Bank Table Tennis Club, European champion Timo Boll and new star Christian Suess of Germany, would all participate in the Panasonic China Grand Prix Table Tennis Championships.

	Metro China announced that the first round of five stores – namely Shanghai Putuo, Beijing Wanquanhe, Beijing Shilihe, Guangzhou Tianhe and Wuhan Hongshan - have received the HACCP Certificate issued by the Swiss-based world leading certification company SGS. On the same day, the celebration ceremonies and the press conferences were held successfully in Metro Shanghai, Guangzhou and Wuhan store respectively.

	With over 300 suppliers` s participating, the Metro Hefei Baohe Store Vendor Meeting was successfully held in Hefei Hilton Hotel. Meanwhile, an Agri-Product Sourcing Base project agreement has been signed among Metro, Hefei Agriculture Committee and Anhui Agriculture University. Six local companies and associations also signed the memorandums of understanding for local sourcing with Metro.
