The C & C Wholesale is self-service
wholesale: customers pick their own orders, pay in
cash and take away the goods themselves, the essential
elements are:
Clear definition of customer groups: only professional customers, i.e. customers
from professional sectors such as hotels, restaurants, bars, cafes, caterer,
work canteens, general or specialised food and non-food retailers, service providers,
freelancers, bulk consumers, government authorities and institutions.
The stores are designed according to product range and demand. They are clearly
structured and focused on self-service. The goods are presented in industrial
racks. The area for each product range and group of goods follows the demand
and the specific rotation of the stocks.
The goods management system of the METRO C & C System is computerised. Sales
can thus be sorted regarding group of goods and articles very quickly and products
can be stocked up immediately so that no out-of-stock situation can appear.
The customers are informed directly of sales and offers. By direct mail they
continuously receive the latest information on product range, prices, offers,
satiations of demands, equipment and usage possibilities. Beside the basic information
for all customers certain target groups receive additional specialised information.
Goods purchase, organisation, finance and accounting of the company for the C & C
stores are controlled centrally. |
